Seed Library

What is a seed library?

This is a place where community members can get seeds for free that I have collected and added to the library each year, seeds gifted from friends and community members, and some packaged seeds. All seeds are non-GMO, open-pollinated, and organic seeds. I also never used pesticides on anything I grow.

As a biologist and herbalist, I know that how we nourish ourselves, the air we breathe, and our access and connection to nature and green spaces, among many things, have a profound impact on our collective physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental wellness and the wellness of our communities. Access to nutritious and delicious fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers is a human right. Access to nature is a human right. Access to foods that have not been contaminated with well-researched harmful chemicals is a human right. This seed library is a gift from me to you to actively create and continue to dream of a future where this is a reality.

Here you can borrow seeds to grow your own herbs, vegetables, and flowers and collect seeds to keep from your harvest to create your own seed stash and donate some keep the library thriving!

I started this seed library in hopes of encouraging folks to….

  • Begin having a reciprocal relationship with plants

  • Restore, nurture, and strengthen their relationship with the earth, plants, and their communities (including pollinators, animals, microbes, and fungi!)

  • Help others begin to save their own seeds and join the generations of seed savers

  • To take action against climate change and support native ecosystems

  • Help grow and collect seeds for locally adapted foods

  • Learn about and preserve Indigenous food crops and sacred plants and allow your communities and others to preserve traditions.

  • Save a variety of seeds to encourage biodiversity and happy ecosystems

  • Resist reliance on major seed companies

  • Teach the next generation to be in a reciprocal relationship with plants so future generations will continue to remember

  • Have fun and try growing something you have never grown before

  • Reclaim our food systems and ensure our food sovereignty

  • Help feed our communities

Seed saving is something that we as people have done for thousands of years. Join the partyyyyy!
